Remove the Filter

Removing the filter is a hot-swap operation. You do not need to power off the server before you remove the filter.

1. Consider your first step.

   • If you have not prepared for service, do so now. See Preparing for Service.

   • If you are removing the filter as part of another component's removal or installation procedure, go to Step 2.

2. Pinch the left and right release levers inwards.
   
3. Pivot the filter forward and out of the chassis.
   
4. Lift the filter from the chassis.
5. Set the filter aside.
6. Consider your next step.

   • If you removed the filter as part of a replacement operation, install a new filter. See Install the Filter.

   • If you removed the filter as part of another component's removal or installation procedure, return to that procedure. See Component Service Task Reference for assistance.

7. Finish the removal procedure.
