The status of the USB flash drive is represented by an LED located within the construction of the USB drive, and might not have any distinct features. The light emitted by the LED might be visible through the grille of the back panel of the chassis. See Rear Panel Components (Service).
The LED of the USB flash drive flashes to represent read/write activity:
Rapid flashing identifies read activity.
Slower, rhythmic flashing identifies write activity.
