Verify a PCIe Card

After you install a PCIe card, you can verify its functionality.

  1. Access Oracle ILOM.

    See Access the SP (Oracle ILOM).

  2. Reset the PCIe card.
    -> set /SYS/MB/PCIEy clear_fault_action=true
    Are you sure you want to clear /SYS/MB/PCIE1 (y/n)? y
    Set 'clear_fault_action' to 'true'
    
    ->

    where y is 0 to 6.

  3. Consider your next step.
    • If you installed a new PCIe card as part of a replacement operation, verify that the PCIe card is no longer considered faulty, then return to this procedure. See Locate a Faulty PCIe Card.

    • If you installed a new PCIe card to increase functionality, go to Step 4.

  4. Verify that the PCIe card is recognized.
    -> show /System/PCI_Devices/Add-on
     /System/PCI_Devices/Add-on
     	Targets:
     		Device_x
     		Device_y
    ...
    ->

    where x, y, etc, are the slot numbers where PCIe cards are installed.

    If the PCIe card is not recognized, check its installation.

  5. Verify that the PCIe card is identified.
    -> show /System/PCI_Devices/Add-on/Device_x

    where x is the slot number where the PCIe card is installed.
