PCIe2 Slot Characteristics

There are five PCIe2 slots available for optional PCIe2 cards. The following figure shows the PCIe2 slot numbering.

Note - PCIe2 slot 3 is reserved for an internal SAS controller HBA. You cannot install an optional card in slot 3.

Note - All of the PCIe slots comply with the PCI Express 2.0 specification and can accommodate 25 W PCIe2 cards.

Note - Some PCIe cards can only be installed in certain PCIe slots in the server. Check the Sun Netra X4270 Server Product Notes or contact your service representantive for the latest information about slot restrictions for supported PCIe cards.
