Remove ESM Riser

1. Prepare the server for service.

   See Preparing the Server for Component Replacement

2. Remove the PCI mezzanine and place it on an antistatic mat.

   See Remove the PCI Mezzanine.

3. Remove the air duct and place it on an antistatic mat.

   See Remove the Air Duct.

4. Remove the three Phillips screws securing the ESM riser to the motherboard.
   
5. Grasp both sides of the ESM riser and lift it straight up and out of the motherboard.
6. Consider your next step:

   • If you removed the ESM riser as part of another procedure, return to that procedure.

   • Otherwise, continue with this task.

7. Disconnect the ESM cable from the ESM riser.
8. Remove the ESM cover from the ESM riser.
9. Grasp the ESM tab and lift the ESM up and out of the ESM riser.

   Place the ESM on an antistatic mat.

10. Continue to Install ESM Riser to replace the ESM riser.
