Prepare the server
for service.
See Preparing the Server for Component Replacement.
- Remove the PCI mezzanine and
place it on an antistatic mat.
See Remove the PCI Mezzanine.
- Loosen the appropriate card securing
screws.
- Lift the PCIe2 riser assembly
(with PCIe2 card attached) from the PCI mezzanine.
- If installed, remove the card
securing screw on the right side of the PCIe2 card faceplate.
- Remove the PCIe2 card from the
PCIe2 riser assembly.
- Set the card aside on an antistatic
mat.
- Consider your next step:
If you are replacing the PCIe2 card,
continue to Install the Lower PCIe2 Cards.
If you are not replacing the PCIe2 card, install
a filler panel into the PCIe2 riser.
- Gently press the riser into the
motherboard connector until it seats.
- Use a No. 2 screwdriver to tighten
the three captive screws to secure the PCIe2 riser to the motherboard.
- Install the PCI mezzanine.

- Return the server to operation.
