Troubleshoot ESM Faults

An ESM failure can be caused by a faulty ESM riser, the ESM itself, or both. You must use ILOM to determine which components have failed. Refer to the ILOM 3.0 documentation for more information about the following task.

1. Use the ILOM CLI to log in to the server as root and type the following command to display ESM riser faults:

   -> show /SYS/ESMR

2. Type the following command to display ESM faults:

   -> show /SYS/ESMR/ESM

3. Depending on the faults, consider your next tasks:

   • If the ESM riser has failed, replace the ESM riser.

   • If the ESM has failed, replace the ESM.

   • If both components have failed, replace both components.
