Using This Documentation

  • Overview – This document describes how to monitor and control chassis hardware and components of the Oracle InfiniBand Switch IS2-46, Oracle InfiniBand Switch IS2-254, and Oracle Fabric Interconnect F2-12.

  • Audience – This document is intended for experienced technicians, system administrators, and Oracle-approved service personnel.

  • Required knowledge – This document assumes the reader has advanced experience with managing data center and network switch and hosts, including, but not limited to, I/O modules and daughter cards, fans, PSUs/PDUs, and management modules. Knowledge of administering IB, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel networks is also required.

Collectively, the Oracle InfiniBand Switch IS2-46, Oracle InfiniBand Switch IS2-254, and Oracle Fabric Interconnect F2-12 products are called the Oracle EDR InfiniBand Switches and Virtualized I/O Systems. When cited in this document, these products are also known as the leaf switch, spine switch, and virtualization switch, respectively.

At the time of this document's publishing, the Oracle InfiniBand Switch IS2-46 and Oracle Fabric Interconnect F2-12 are available, so content in this document is focused on those switches.
