Configure the SMTP Client (Oracle ILOM Web)

The switch contains an SMTP email client that is used to email notification and alerts to a specified email address. The email address can be an alias or individual recipient's email, for example, the switch administrator.


Note -  To send messages, the SMTP client must be enabled and configured for email alert rules from the Oracle ILOM Alert Settings page. See Enable Alerts to Send Email Alerts (Oracle ILOM Web).
  1. Choose ILOM Administration→Notifications, and click the SMTP Client tab.
  2. Select the Enabled checkbox, and provide the SMTP server IP address or host name, the SMTP server port, and the custom sender string into the respective fields.
  3. Click Save.
  4. (Optional) Send a test email to verify SMTP client settings.
    1. Type an accessible email address into the Address field.
    2. Click Send Test.
    3. Verify that the email was received.
