Set the Switch Password Policy for Local Users (Oracle ILOM Web)

The passwords used to log in to the switch can be configured with different requirements for password strength. For example, the switch password policy can require an upper-case letter, a number, a special character, and so on. The switch enforces the password policy so that passwords that do not comply with the required password policy cannot be created.

1. Choose ILOM Administration→User Management, and click the Password Policy tab.
2. Specify the minimum number of characters that the password must contain.
3. Choose the checkboxes as needed to require a minimum of one upper case, lower case, numbers, symbols, and special characters in the password.
4. If you want to disallow reuse of any of the last five passwords, select the History checkbox.
5. Click Save.
