Display the Switch Temperatures (Oracle ILOM CLI)

The switch contains fan units consisting of individual fans. The switch's cooling subsystem enables querying for specific temperatures and thresholds for the overall chassis, fan units, and individual fans.

Use this task to display information about the system-level health of cooling and airflow for the switch.

  1. Display the ambient temperatures for different parts of the switch.

    For example, to see the ambient temperature of the overall switch, type:

    -> show -d properties /SYS/MB/T_AMB
     /SYS/MB/T_AMB
     	Properties:
     		type = Temperature
            	ipmi_name = MB/T_AMB
            	class = Threshold Sensor
            	value = 33.000 degree C
            	upper_nonrecov_threshold = N/A
            	upper_critical_threshold = 43.000 degree C
            	upper_noncritical_threshold = 38.000 degree C
            	lower_noncritical_threshold = 8.000 degree C
            	lower_critical_threshold = 3.000 degree C
            	lower_nonrecov_threshold = N/A
            	alarm_status = cleared

    All three entities, the chassis, HCA, and IB switch chip, show the same type of information.

  2. Display the temperature of the air that is exiting the chassis.
    -> show -d properties /SYS/MB/T_OUT
     /SYS/MB/T_AMB
     	Properties:
     		type = Temperature
            	ipmi_name = MB/T_OUT
            	class = Threshold Sensor
            	value = 38.000 degree C
            	upper_nonrecov_threshold = N/A
            	upper_critical_threshold = 48.000 degree C
            	upper_noncritical_threshold = 43.000 degree C
            	lower_noncritical_threshold = 8.000 degree C
            	lower_critical_threshold = 3.000 degree C
            	lower_nonrecov_threshold = N/A
            	alarm_status = cleared

    ->

    All three entities, the chassis, HCA, and IB switch chip, show the same type of information.
