Back Up the Configuration (Oracle ILOM Web)

At times, you might want to back up the switch configuration so that you have a copy to revert to if needed. For example, before starting an upgrade, you might want to back up the existing configuration. When you backup the configuration, it is kept in a separate file on the SP.

Note -  See Backed Up Switch Configuration Information for what switch-specific configuration information is backed up when a passphrase is used.
  1. Choose ILOM Administration→Configuration Management, and click the Backup/Restore tab.
  2. Select Backup from the Operation drop-down menu.
  3. Select the transfer protocol from the Transfer Method drop-down menu.
  4. For the protocol selected, type the host IP address, file path, user name, and password into the respective fields.

If you selected TFTP as the transfer protocol, type just the host IP address and file path.

  5. (Optional) Make a note of the device where you will back up the configuration.

Noting the device that contains the backed up configuration is helpful if you need to restore the configuration later.

  6. If you want to back up sensitive information in addition to the configuration:
    1. Type a passphrase into the Passphrase field.
    2. Type the passphrase again into the Confirm Passphrase field.
  7. Click Run.

A dialog prompts you for confirmation.

  8. Click OK.
